2024年の頭から2025年の8月まで、ずっとこの絵だけを描いていた。アトリエの壁は全部このキャンバスで埋まっていて、行くたびに少しずつ植物を描いた。それだけの時間をかけて、自分の目で見て、形を噛み砕いて、手で現してみたとしても、私には人間の周辺にある言葉を空振りしながら読み取ろうとすることしかできない。今もすでにそうなのだ。

私たちは植物について語る言葉を持っていない。

From the beginning of 2024 until August 2025, I worked on nothing but this painting. All the walls of my studio were covered with this canvas, and every time I went there I painted a little bit of the plants. Even after spending so much time looking at it with my own eyes, crunching its shapes, and expressing them with my own hands, all I could do was try and read the words that surround humans, stumbling across them in vain. That’s still the case now.
We have no words to describe plants.
